Welcome to the Postpartum like a boss podcast

Welcome to Postpartum like a boss where we talk all things early parenthood. Postpartum like a boss is brought to you by Gemma Smith, in unfiltered conversation with parents about the inevitable highs, lows and genuine WTFs of the transition to parenthood.

I’m your host, Gemma Smith and some of the hats I wear (but actually don’t because..mum bun…) include:
- Principal of Together Pregnancy and Postpartum Pty Ltd
- Accredited Social Worker
- Mother of two under six
- Partner of one over 35
- Former HR professional
Qualifications I have, (which, ironically, I mainly did for the hats) include:
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- Bachelor of Creative Arts
- Diploma of Business Management
- Diploma of Yoga Teaching
- Newborn Mothers postpartum professional course
My long story short is: I lived a fast life, constantly pushing myself well beyond my limits while striving for success (and adrenal fatigue apparently!). Then, I had my first baby and the rest is complicated, messy, profound and joyful history, which has led me to this work, and to create this podcast.

Postpartum like a boss is for you if you:
- are thinking about, or actively trying for a baby
- are pregnant and or/ a partner support person
- have recently given birth or become a parent
- are returning to work or have young children
- are a birth-worker, friend or family member supporting others from pregnancy to postpartum
- are someone who doesn’t mind a good laugh and a good cry at the same time
Trigger warnings
Postpartum like a boss episodes cover topics associated with pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It is therefore likely that episodes will cover topics that may trigger some listeners such as, but not limited to; fertility issues, IVF, pregnancy loss, late term or infant loss, traumatic birth experiences, gender disappointment, relationship breakdowns and postpartum depression/ anxiety/ psychosis. Every effort will be made to have appropriate trigger warnings in the show notes of each episode.
