Welcome to the Postpartum like a boss podcast

Postpartum like a boss is a podcast by Accredited Social Worker and mother of two Gemma Smith, in unfiltered conversation with parents about the inevitable highs, lows and genuine WTF moments of the transition to parenthood.

I’m your host, Gemma Smith and some of the hats I wear (but actually don’t because..mum bun…) include:

  • Principal of Together Pregnancy and Postpartum Pty Ltd
  • Accredited Social Worker
  • Mother of two under six
  • Former HR professional

Qualifications I have, (which, ironically, I mainly did for the hats) include:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts
  • Diploma of Business Management
  • Diploma of Yoga Teaching
  • Newborn Mothers postpartum professional course

My long story short is: I lived a fast life, constantly pushing myself well beyond my limits while striving for success (and adrenal fatigue apparently!). Then, I had my first baby and the rest is complicated, messy, profound and joyful history, which has led me to this work, and to create this podcast.

I am lucky enough to record this podcast where I call home, on Quandamooka country (bayside Brisbane), and acknowledge the longstanding traditions of storytelling and rich oral history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Accessibility: As this is a self-funded podcast transcripts of any episode are not listed on the website but are available upon request to gemma@togetherpnp.com.au.

I acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of this country on which they never ceded sovereignty. I recognise their deep and continuing connection to the land and waters, particularly in relation to birthing practices, which have existed here since time immemorial. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
