30 | Navigating adversity in motherhood – With @danniirodgers

RELEASED JUL 27, 2022

Trigger warning – this episode contains strong themes related to medical complications in pregnancy, NICU and miscarriage.

In this episode we are joined by the absolute ray of sunshine that is @danniirodgers, founder of @mummyrepublic. With a background in high-level corporate finance, Dannii had an unexpectedly tricky transition into motherhood when her long-term relationship came to an end shortly after the birth of her first child. Dannii would also later face medical complications in her second pregnancy that would change the course of her life forever. In this episode you’ll hear how Dannii navigated:

– Juggling solo parenthood and her finance career for a number of years

– Meeting her (now) husband and deciding to have a child together

– A diagnosis of Micrognathia at her 20 week scan (and later Pierre Robin Sequence) – resulting in the very real possibility of losing her baby during pregnancy, birth or his first year of life

– Quitting her role in corporate finance to work for herself

– And experiencing two recent miscarriages as a public figure in the motherhood space.

Despite the adversity Dannii has faced, she has a knack for making people smile and connecting with others. Dannii has had great success growing a large, welcoming and fun Instagram community, podcast hosting and creating epic events for mothers to further connect with themselves and each other. We love you Dannii!
